Kempas is a very hard, red colored wood with coarsed grain.
Color
Kempas has color range from pink to medium rose to darker red colors. Overtime the color will mute and darken slightly to medium reddish color.
Stability
Low Stability. Kempas is less stable than Red Oak. It is important that the engineered floors are properly equalized prior to installation. Once installed, relative humidity between 35% and 55% must be maintained to minimize movement. In a very dry climates Kempas is prone to shrinkage.
