Ironwood
Trade Name Ironwood
Description As its name implies, Ironwood is a very hard, heavy, and very dense timber. In fact, it is the hardest timber in our Bellefloor product line up. Its texture is moderately fine and even.
Color Ironwood color ranges from reddish brown, or dull-red brown to dark brown, with darker streaks. Upon exposure to sunlight, the wood will darken to richly darkred color. The grain is usually interlocked or wavy.
Stability Ironwood has high natural resistance to decay and extremely resistant to preservative treatment because of resinous substances in the wood. Its resistance to termite attack is reported to be comparable to that of Teak.
Side hardness (lbf) 2410
Remark Ironwood hue will turn deep red overtime after exposure to sunlight. This is natural for this particular specie. more>>
