Should
I expect color variation or change in my hardwood floor after installation?
Yes. Because wood is a product of nature, you will see variations from board to board in most species. Wood, when expose to sunlight, will turn darker and/or yellow. Bear in mind as well that color variation tends to be more visible in species such as Teak, Merbau, Kempas and Ironwood.
My wood floor has incurred damage. Can it be repaired?
If you have minor chips, scratches or similarly slight types of damage, we suggest the application of touch-up coloring. However, if the damage is severe, it may be necessary to replace individual boards at the damaged area.
Do I need to wax or resand my Bellefloor flooring?
No, neither is recommended. Bellefloor creates pre-finished, high-quality flooring with multiple UV lacquer coating. Your floor is unlikely to require such procedures. You can screen and recoat with new waterbase coating after years of usage when the finish lost their sheen or if home owner require higher gloss level.

Where can I find maintenance products for my Bellefloor hardwood flooring?
Check with the retail outlet where you purchased your flooring. The store should have a full line of maintenance products on hand.
Can I roll heavy furniture across hardwood flooring?
This should not be done without precautionary measures. When moving or rolling heavy pieces of furniture or appliances, use protection such as strips of 1/4" hardboard as a runner under the wheels or legs. Always move items with great care. (See also regarding denting under general FAQs.)
Can
I mop my hardwood floors using hot, soapy water?
No. Water can prematurely age your hardwood flooring and cause it to crack and split.
COMMON PROBLEMS WITH HARDWOOD FLOORING
Why does wood flooring expand? How do I repair damage caused by expansion?
Wood generally expands when it absorbs moisture in conditions of high relative humidity, or when high moisture content in the sub-floor affects the wood. The effects of expansion are evidenced in cupping and swelling of wood, and if this has occurred in the flooring the affected areas will most likely need replacing. To avoid expansion, humidity levels should be controlled with dehumidifier, an adequate heating and cooling system as well as by good ventilation, with all three methods used if possible. Avoid subjecting floors to wet mopping, water leakage and other potentially damaging activities and circumstances.
Why does wood flooring shrink? How do I repair damage caused by shrinkage?
Just opposite to the above, wood generally shrinks in conditions of low relative humidity, the loss of moisture causing contraction and eventually crowning after a prolonged dry state. Crowning will most likely call for floor replacement. Shrinkage should be controlled with a humidifier, a good climate control system, and good ventilation.
